Garden furniture, particularly in the UK, needs to withstand year-round rain, wind and sunlight. The combined effect of water and UV damage can leave outdoor chairs and tables looking dilapidated after a few years, but many of our customers have successfully restored and protected their furniture with minimal time and effort using products from our range. In this post we share some of their feedback and tips.
Use Plasti Dip for hard-wearing results on garden furniture
Owen says: “Brilliant product – used to waterproof the legs of a wooden bench that will sit out all weathers. Easy to apply and the neutral allows the colour of the bench to show through making the coating invisible. Very happy.”
Stuart Mitchell says: “Sunny day, and time to give my sad aluminium patio set a makeover. I used Plasti Dip Grey Primer and 2 coats of HCF applied with foam brush. I am so pleased and amazed with the results.”
Robert McCormack says: “I have just given my tired-looking garden decking a coat of Plasti Dip in green. looks amazing… Wonderful product.”
Pete says: “I wanted to try this on my garden chairs feet as they were corroding so sprayed them with your product and will be buying some more shortly terrific stuff”
Cristina Kent says: “Used to dip a wooden table’s feet to be used in the garden. very easy to apply – just dipped legs in the can.”
Pauline Foley says: “Fantastic product – did what it said on the tin. My garden furniture looks as good as new.”
A great coating for indoor chairs too
Colin McIntosh used one of our paints to restore plastic chairs which are used indoors: “I used paint for refreshing black coloured, plastic canteen chairs. The coverage was that good that I was tempted to give it only one coat. But the second coat made the chairs look like new. The customer was very impressed.”
You can also use HCF (Hard Coat Finish) with great results on garden furniture
HCF is flexible and durable and perfect for surfaces that need to expand and contract with the heat of the sun.
Ms Barbara Saunders says: “I repainted my chairs with Plasti Dip HCF last autumn. It was hard work, as I had to strip all the old flaky paint off the aluminium first! I painted with the Primer, and finally with two coats of HCF. The coating seems rock-solid, so time will tell how well it performs out in the elements.”
Mike Lamb says: “Very pleased with the result. I used HCF to rejuvenate outdoor plastic garden table top. good finish.”
