Plasti Dip is a hard-wearing rubberised protective coating which can be used in many applications. In this post we highlight some of the feedback we have received from customers who’ve used it on floors and ceilings, which we hope you’ll find useful.

For a garage floor
Malcolm Goodier says: “Purchased to paint new garage floor re-surfaced with self-levelling concrete. it has adhered very well but is very translucent. I am about to put a third coat on to try to cover properly. I appreciate that this is not the prime usage for this paint and am therefore quite satisfied with the outcome.”
For a gym floor
Jodi Pyle says: “I have always found your company very pleasant and efficient to deal with. The paint is fab and ideal for my changing room floor at the gym. Will continue to use you definitely.”
For carpet backs
Julie Raz says: “I bought Plasti Dip following a tip on a website for a product to seal the back of a crumbling carpet and, although I couldn’t find the product they recommended, this seemed to be a potential alternative. I brushed it onto the rug in question and left it to dry overnight. It appears to have given it a good seal and we no longer find we are continuously vacuuming up small bits of degraded rubber/plastic. It’s saved us having to throw away a perfectly good rug solely because of the backing.”
Use HCF for a balcony floor
Robert says: “Used to paint floor of an enclosed balcony, 6th floor, stone’s throw from east coast beach. Previous finish flaking and coming away in fairly large areas, showing bare concrete. Electric wire brush to remove loose paint and roughen remaining paint surface, then 2 coats of HCF, by brush, excellent coverage, no fumes, easy and quick to apply, brush marks all but disappear. Left for 24 hours and recoated, even easier to apply second coat, virtually flawless finish. I am going to place 3 inch floor joists and surface with particle board, and cover with sheet vinyl, should please the wife/boss. Will paint second open balcony in due course. The coating is expensive, but so are most good things, good product, no fumes, excellent finish. Could it be used for a concrete garage floor, as most garage floor paint lifts when parking cars with hot tyres on it? Cannot praise product highly enough for my purpose. Thank you Plasti Dip.”
Roofs and ceilings
Gordon Mackay says: “Plasti Dip was just the kind of paint I was looking for to coat and weatherproof my astronomical observatory roof (a converted shed with a removable roof). The plywood roof had twenty odd coach bolts holding it to a sturdy frame inside which previously had leaked water, so an all in one paint that was hard wearing and coated metal and wood was ideal, sealing any small holes in the process. Previously I had to cover the equipment kept inside just in case any water got in but now my equipment is left uncovered as its totally watertight and the finish looks great too.
I purchased a five litre can which was just enough for two thick coats and some extras. Before I painted the roof I dipped the turnbuckles and hooks which hold the roof when it’s on in the plastdip paint to dampen the noise when fitting or removing the roof in the middle of the night. It works a treat for this purpose also. I have added pictures of some of the uses I had for it, great stuff, many thanks from a happy customer!”
Wolsey Jameson says: “Used to seal leaking joint around roof light in conservatory roof. It seems to have worked after years of trying. Well done!”
Dennis Woolliscroft says: “Have not used White yet, but was quite satisfied with the Black purchased earlier. Its advantage is flexibility on a rubber roof covering. I have bought white to help reduce heat absorption on roof.”
