Liquid Electrical Tape (LET) is one of our most popular products with a wide range of applications for auto, home and garden, marine and RV. It’s easy to brush on and comes in a variety of sizes. It seals out moisture and salr permanently protecting delicate electronics and more. In today’s post, we look at some of the successful applications our customers have used it for.
Repairing window seals on cars
Mr J R R Lang “I used your “liquid electrical tape” on the advice of my father (who uses it to repair small plastic parts in old cameras!) to repair and waterproof the seals around the edge of the rear plastic window in a Porsche convertible. It worked perfectly – sealed up the small gap that was starting to appear, left a smooth finish and bends nicely when retracting the roof.”
For motorcycles
Tyler Bennetts “I’m an enthusiastic mechanic and motorcycle repairer. I use liquid tape on all electrical installations because it’s a fit and forget product. I’ve never had a failure with it on any project and years of use in some cases mean it’s reliable and still flexible. There’s always a can in my toolbox and it’s so useful not just as an “electrical tape” I’ve painted tools with it to stop scratching of delicate items and to waterproof things exposed to water that could be damaged and these have been well protected.”
For audio electrics
Grippeaz-UK / Ilissus Audio “We produce audio, vacuum tube amplifiers and have found the product to be very versatile and effective in insulating exposed electrical terminals.”
James H Nicholl says: “I am a radio ham. I use your black liquid tape to waterproof the solder and crimp joints on my wire antennas, its better than self amalgamating tape. I wonder why its not stocked by the ham dealers, perhaps in smaller quantities.”
Protecting outdoor electrics
Keith Radford “I had to waterproof the entry of an aluminium tube into a plastic conduit box…..I put three coats on and it worked a treat. Drying time was fast and any wrongly placed splotches could be easily removed when dry – it just peeled away. Good product and service!”
Waterproofing electrics on boats
Brian: “I installed a wind generator on my yacht and used the liquid electrical tape to seal all of the connections and while I was about it I sealed several other electrical items as corrosion of connections is a problem on watercraft.”
Mike says: “Very impressed with the rapid despatch and delivery. I used the liquid electrical tape to coat unused contacts and bars on the rear of a new ignition switch on a boat – It’s ideal. My only comment is that the brush attached to the lid is a bit too large.”
For antique cameras
Chris Wilson: “I used it to repair the bellows on an 83-year-old camera, and it works a treat for bellows repair.”
General electricals
John Kassimis: “We purchased this product to insulate electrical transformer contacts and it has proved very satisfactory.”
A . Conners says: “Liquid Electrical Tape is a most useful product allowing economical repair of small electrical components . One bottle would appear to go a long way.”
Peter Goldthorp says: “I have to cut a single wire out of an engine ECU plug. Conventional insulating tape eventually goes sticky and comes off, but liquid insulating tape allows me to dab it on the cut end without having to dismantle the plug.”
For remote control vehicles
Lee: “What can I say but bloody brilliant stuff. I have used it in most of my rc speed boats (deep v/cat) to seal the ESC form water ingress and also on a w.t.c battery connections in my type XXI uboat . now I’m off to do the car . .. If you need stuff waterproofing this is the stuff to do it with . as soon as I’m down to half a pot I will be ordering more .”
Rob Crawford: “I’m very happy with the products I ordered. The Liquid Tape is great for power distribution boards on my quadcopters and RC planes especially when there is power anywhere near flight controllers and carbon fibre”
