You can use Plasti Dip for a surprising number of dog-related applications. It’s hard-wearing waterproof properties make it suited to everything from kennel floors to protecting dog boots. Don’t just take our word for it, in this post you can see what our customers have to say.
For dogs boots
Dogs suffering from disabilities often need to wear boots to protect dragging feet, but customers often come to ask asking how to make dog boots last longer. Plasti Dip is great for lengthening the life of these boots as well as waterproofing them for muddy or wet walks.
Jean Barber says: “I purchased this for a boot that my dog has to wear. He had a slipped disc and lost the use of his back legs. However, he has managed to get almost back to normal, except he drags one of his legs a little and without a boot injures his toes. On purchasing the boot it was recommended I get in touch and order the plasti dip and applied to the toe of the boot has proved invaluable.”
Penny Clarke says: “Product was entirely satisfactory. I used it on boots for a disabled dog (to stop his feet being hurt by dragging) and on boots for his disabled owner, which were cheap ones and coming apart at the seams! Dog and I are well pleased with the results.”
Kim Dodd says: “I am probably one of the more unusual users of Plastidip. I had been advised my dog needed to wear a boot permanently to protect a dragging paw, and had been unable to find anything robust enough to last beyond a couple of walks. I resorted to making my own, and was blessed with the discovery of Plasti Dip. Dipping the end of the boot into this amazing solution means I can achieve approximately 2 weeks of wear, which is amazing considering the abrasion it goes through twice a day. It is also flexible enough to cope with the movement of her paw. I am also impressed with its ability to stay on the boot after being soaking and covered with mud on a daily basis. It really is as strong and durable as it boasts. Well done for providing a solution to many different problems. It is a fantastic product, and I am looking forward to being a regular user.”
Pamela Kendall says: “Recommended by Dogsonwheels to give longer life to their dog booties. My GSD drags her feet (she’s 15 and back legs are going) so therefore ordered booties to protect the top of her feet. Dogsonwheels suggested coating the booties with Plastidip, which I did, and what a fantastic result. Coated them 3 weeks ago, and the coating has not yet worn through (put on 3 coats) Highly recommended!”
Suzanne Thornton says: “I don’t think this product was particularly designed for how I am using it, but it is brilliant. My doggie boots last so much longer which means I don’t spend half as much of my time making him new ones. Samuel is very happy to model the finished product for you!”
Caroline Burghard says: “Used plasti dip successfully to form the ‘soles’ on traction socks for large elderly dog.”
For dog baths
John Whitton says: “Very happy with the product, I have built a dog bath and used the product to seal all round the bath that will be soaked with water. I used 4 coats and the seal is excellent. The bath is fibreglass and adhesion is excellent. Great product !!”
For painting dog kennels
David Steele says: “We used the Plasti Dip in three coats as a floor surface for our Beagles’ new kennel. It was applied over two months ago and is proving to be very hardwearing, easy to keep clean and looks good. We will used the same treatment for our further new kennel planned for next year.”
And use Super Grip for dog beds too!
Super Grip is an aerosol product manufactured by Plasti Dip which helps to keep fabric from moving on slippery surfaces. It’s used in a number of applications from coating crochet slippers to adding grip to the back of card mats and also for dog beds…
Adrienne Gibson says: “very good product, would recommend it – did rugs and a dogs bed!”
