Over the summer the stars of Sky TV’s League Of Their Own visited the Isle Of Wight to film a piece for the show on Thundercat racing.
The sport originated in the 1980s in South Africa and involves teams of two competing on 4m inflatable catamarans coupled with a 50hp motor. It requires high levels of physical fitness and is known as the world’s toughest watersport
Preparing the boats for the race required changing the colour of one of the vessels which is where we got involved supplying blue Plasti Dip.
The shows stars Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp, Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Daviswere divided into two teams with Flintoff & Davis in the Plasti Dipped blue boat
Plasti Dip is ideal for this kind of application as it can be sprayed or painted directly on to a non-porous surface, creating a tough, water and sun resistant coating, but when required can be peeled off easily to restore the original colour beneath.
You can see a bit of the Plasti Dipped Thundercat in action in this video from Twitter…
